Who's behind this
I'm a parent. I'm not a child psychologist or a pediatrician or a parenting coach — and I think a lot of the parenting content out there suffers from being written by people who haven't been in the kitchen at 5:47pm with a meltdown happening and dinner not cooking itself.
The Real Talk Parenting started as a few guides I wrote because I couldn't find what I wanted to read. The kindergarten meltdown guide came after my own kid spent forty-three minutes on the kitchen floor over a granola bar. The busy bag playbook came after a particularly bad pediatrician's-office afternoon. The solo-parent 5-to-8 came after a week of solo bedtimes that taught me more about logistics than any book had.
The voice is the voice I'd use talking to another parent at the school pickup. The advice is what actually worked — in our house and in the houses of forty-plus other parents I traded notes with. Where I lean on professional expertise, I cite it. Where I'm guessing, I tell you I'm guessing.
These are educational guides for parents, not medical advice. If something in your kid's behavior worries you, talk to your pediatrician — they know your kid in ways the internet never will.
The guides are written in English for parents anywhere. If you have feedback, hit reply to any email or write to hello@therealtalkparenting.com — I read everything.
